Basement Renovation
A full basement transformation — from exposed framing and dead storage space to a bright, finished living area with its own kitchen, full bath, and laundry.
The Challenge
The basement was unfinished and underused — exposed framing and insulation, dated partition walls, old finishes, and carpet over a slab that wasn't ready for modern systems. The goal was to turn the entire level into a clean, fully functional living space with its own kitchen, full bath, and laundry.
What We Did
We started with a full demolition — stripping the old finishes, kitchen and bath areas, and carpet, then opening the slab for new underground plumbing. From there we rebuilt the level from the systems up: new plumbing for the basement kitchen, bath, laundry, and a first-floor vanity; a Navien tankless water heater; sump pump connections; and updated electrical across the kitchen, bath, laundry, living areas, bedrooms, and HVAC. New framing went in for the kitchen walls, laundry closet, utility areas, doors, windows, and HVAC chases — followed by the full finish package: vinyl flooring, tiled shower walls, bathroom floor and kitchen backsplash, sheetrock, paint, trim, cabinets, doors, and stair updates.
The Outcome
What was unfinished and underutilized is now a polished, self-contained living space — a full kitchen with island seating, a modern bath, in-unit laundry, and upgraded systems throughout. The layout is brighter, more open, and far more livable than the original footprint.
